I like reading his book because it almost like real life storied, they just do not stay in a one time period. These stories talk about life and death. I was really sad when Dean died after going undercover and that night Clay his best friend also pass away.
Read all the multi-packs and shorts packs long ago, since 2012. The author has gotten better with age/practice. I've read almost all of the Cooper stories (1 - 230) and several of Mr. Bernico's short stories and most have not disappointed me. You'll find some poorly written or predictable stories, but for the most part they are fair to good. The Cooper series are better, but there's a few stinkers, too. They're great for a coffee break or a few minutes to relax.
